UP AYUSH Counselling 2026 Seat Allotment Process

UP AYUSH Counselling 2026 Seat Allotment Process

UP AYUSH Counselling 2026 seat allotment is the stage where a registered candidate finally gets to know which college and course they have been offered, based on their NEET UG 2026 rank, category, and the choices they locked during choice filling. Seat allotment for UP AYUSH Counselling 2026 is carried out by the Uttar Pradesh AYUSH UG Counselling Board on the official portal upayushcounseling.upsdc.gov.in, separately for Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and the Stray Vacancy round.

How Seat Allotment Works

Seat allotment under UP AYUSH Counselling 2026 follows a merit based and choice based method. The state merit list, prepared from the NEET UG 2026 score and rank within each category, is matched against the preferences a candidate locked during choice filling and the seats available in that round’s seat matrix.

A candidate is offered the highest-preference college and course from their locked list that they are eligible for and that has a seat available at their rank. This means the order in which a candidate arranges choices matters directly, since a seat once allotted at a lower preference cannot automatically be exchanged for a higher one within the same round.

Government Colleges vs Private Colleges

The security deposit paid at registration decides which type of colleges appear in a candidate’s allotment possibilities. Candidates who deposited the amount applicable to government colleges only are considered for seats in the 19 government AYUSH colleges of Uttar Pradesh.

Candidates who deposited the higher amount applicable to both government and private colleges are considered across both government and the state’s private AYUSH colleges, subject to their rank and locked preferences.

  • Round 1 allots seats for the first time to eligible candidates based on the fresh merit list and locked choices.
  • Round 2 is open to candidates who received no seat in Round 1, without any additional security deposit, and also to candidates already admitted in Round 1 who wish to try for a better seat through fresh choice filling.
  • Round 3 works on the same principle as Round 2, but carries an important difference: any candidate who receives a fresh allotment in this round must accept it, since resignation is not permitted after Round 3.
  • Stray Vacancy Round fills whatever seats remain vacant after Round 3, mainly in private colleges, and is generally the last opportunity in the main counselling cycle for a candidate without a seat.

What “Provisional” Allotment Means

Every seat allotted under UP AYUSH Counselling 2026 is provisional at first. A provisional allotment only becomes confirmed once the candidate completes physical verification of original documents at the designated nodal centre, and then reports to the allotted college to finish the admission formalities.

Simply being shown a college name on the portal is not the same as being admitted; a candidate who skips physical verification or does not report on time can lose the seat and, depending on the stage, may also forfeit the security deposit.

Steps to Follow After Seat Allotment

  • Log in to the counselling portal and download the provisional allotment letter.
  • Note the date, time and venue notified for physical document verification.
  • Carry all original documents along with one self-attested photocopy of each to the verification venue.
  • Complete verification and collect confirmation of the same.
  • Report to the allotted college within the notified reporting window.
  • Complete the college-level admission formalities, including payment of the applicable college fee.
  • Collect the admission confirmation from the college to complete the process.

Seat Upgradation in Later Rounds

A candidate already holding an allotted seat from Round 1 can try for a better seat in Round 2 or Round 3 without paying a fresh security deposit. While filling fresh choices for this purpose, the candidate should not select the currently allotted seat again as one of the options. If a new seat gets allotted, the earlier one is automatically cancelled and admission at the new seat becomes compulsory. If no new seat is allotted in that round, the candidate’s earlier seat continues to remain valid and unaffected.
