Domicile Requirements
Domicile rules under UP AYUSH Counselling 2026 differ depending on whether a candidate is applying for a government or a private college.
- Government colleges: A UP domicile is required. Candidates who passed both their high school and Intermediate examinations from Uttar Pradesh generally do not need to submit a separate domicile certificate. Candidates who passed either or both of these exams from outside UP, despite being a UP resident, need to submit a domicile or general residence certificate issued in the prescribed format by a competent authority in the state. This also applies to candidates who studied at Aligarh Muslim University.
- Private colleges: A UP domicile is not compulsory. Candidates from any Indian state can apply for seats in private AYUSH colleges and universities in Uttar Pradesh under the state quota.
Eligibility for State Quota Seats in Private Colleges
Within private AYUSH colleges, 15% of seats fall under the All India Quota and are open to candidates from any state, handled separately by AACCC. The remaining 85% state quota seats are open to candidates from any state as well, but reservation benefits on these seats generally apply to candidates who hold a UP domicile and a valid reservation certificate, with the applicable minimum percentile as per NEET UG merit.
Candidates from other states applying for these seats without a UP reservation certificate are considered under the unreserved cut-off announced by the National Testing Agency.
